The New Year

I often get asked what my new years resolutions will be. The only thing I can say is that I want to improve my health.  As the old saying goes. "If you don't have your health. You don't have anything". I do want to do less driving. Not just to save on fuel for my car,  but I only live about a mile from work.  Why not walk?  I have taken my bike to work on a few occasions, but by the time I get to the station I feel like I want to bike around more.  I love to get on my bike and go.  I sometimes make out a map of what I want to bike, but many times I have just pointed my self in a particular direction and just let my front tire show me the way to go.  I have spent a lot of time on Mariners Trail going from Manitowoc to Two Rivers. I have even gone as far north as Kewanee and then back.  The ride on the lake shore is something to experience and going through the country roads as I go further north just adds to it.

I have made a resolution to cut down on  drinking soft drinks. I know I will be able to do that.  A realistic goal is what I'm looking at.  I know that will help to improve my health. Not to mention my teeth.  When I made a goal to cut down on candy and power bars I have found that I have lost a lot of weight.  I also have not felt so run down during the day. I was able to get a little energy, but after that I am worse off then before.

I have a lot of projects that have been put in front of me.  Some that I have set for myself, but others that I have been given by friends or family.  I want to be able to get all of them done and not let the distractions stop me like they have before.  I am a member of the Clipper City Model Railroad Club. I want to spend more time at the club and want to spend more time working with my friends there and put together more scenery and repairs so that the open house that we have will be better then the one before.

I know it sounds like a lot, but with planning and time managment. I know I can put every one of my new years resolutions to work.
