Diet Tip #7: Eat at Home as Often as Possible

Diet experts recommend the best-tasting, low-cal, no-effort dinners:

• Kashi frozen meals, such as Southwest Style Chicken (238 calories), Lime Cilantro Shrimp (250 calories), Sweet & Sour Chicken (320 calories), or Mayan Harvest Bake (340 calories).
• Cedarlane frozen meals, like Spinach & Monterey Jack Tamales (320 calories), Dr. Sears Zone Black Bean & Enchilada Pie (300 calories), or Dr. Sears Zone Spinach & Cheese Pizza (370 calories).
• Amy's Shepherd's Pie (160 calories) or Mexican Tamale Pie (150 calories).
• Trader Joe's Eggplant Parmesan (160 calories).
• Whole-wheat thin spaghetti. Two ounces have 180 calories and six grams of fiber to regular thin spaghetti's 210 calories and two grams of fiber. Mix with half a cup of marinara sauce and a little Parmesan cheese for a total of 350 calories or so.
• Roasted boneless, skinless chicken breast (100 calories for three ounces) or canned albacore tuna packed in water (140 calories for four ounces) on a reduced-carbohydrate wrap like one from La Tortilla Factory (80 calories). Add lots of colorful vegetables and mustard or pickles for flavor.
