The 6 Fitness Myths by Jolynn Jones of Anytime Fitness

#1 - Women who lift weights will get bulky muscles.  No woman is going to turn into Arnold Schwarzenegger.  Focus on and do what's best for your body type and fitness goals.  No workout is perfect for everyone, get one customized for YOU!

#2 - Spot reducing is possible.  We wish it were true, but unfortunately, it's not!  Your body will decide where it wants to lose.  The goal is to be consistent, results will come.

#3 - No pain, no gain.  Exercise does not need to be painful.  In the beginning, the biggest obstacle is getting started.  Get a program that fits your schedule and goals, soon you will start enjoying your workouts!

#4 - Exercise requires a hefty time commitment.  Absolutely NOT!  In fact, a typical workout is only around 45 minutes in duration.  You do not need to spend hours at the gym each day in order to see results.

#5 - If you exercise, you can eat whatever you want.  Remember, if you are eating more than you are burning, you will not lose!  Watch those portions.  The old saying "you are what you eat" holds true today.

#6 - There's a magic bullet (quick fix) out there somewhere.  If there were a  "quick fix" everyone would know about it.  Your best bet is to combine a healthy diet & regular exercise.  Good things take time, but this is one decision you will never regret!
