Gas Station Clerk Stops Robbery
A gas station convenience store clerk in Vernon Hills, Illinois thwarted an attempted armed robbery on Monday by simply refusing the robbers’ demands for money, according to the Lake & McHenry County Scanner.
The Vernon Hills Police Department responded to a report of two armed men wearing hoods entering the store at around 3 a.m., according to Vernon Hills Police Department Spokesman Jeff Hemesath.
When one of them, brandishing a pistol, demanded cash from the register, says Hemesath, The clerk reportedly refused to comply, leading the suspects to flee the scene.
No arrests have been made and the incident remains under investigation. No injuries were reported during the incident.
