GrubHub Inks Deal to Deliver Girl Scout Cookies
Worried the pandemic will keep you from scoring your annual stockpile of Thin Mints and Do-si-dos? Fear not. In order to make sure we all get the sweet treats safely, the Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) has teamed up with GrubHub to deliver them to your door.
The food delivery service will provide contact-free delivery of the beloved cookies, which is the linchpin in what the GSUSA organization calls the world's "largest girl-led entrepreneurship program."
GSUSA notes you'll be able to order your favorite cookies online starting February 1, "so consumers who don’t know a Girl Scout can still purchase cookies from a local troop for direct shipment to their homes or donation to local organizations."
Through the new partnership, they'll also be made available via GrubHub on the company's app.
Like many companies in the time of COVID-19, the Girl Scouts had to ditch its usual door-to-door and outdoor booth sales and adapt to keep their brand alive, notes GSUSA CEO Judith Batty.
"This season, our girls will continue to exemplify what the cookie program taught them -- how to think like entrepreneurs, use innovative sales tactics, and pivot to new ways of doing business when things don’t go according to plan," Batty notes.
