Now What You Want to See While Driving!
Imagine this, you're nice and relaxed while going on a routine drive in your car when, suddenly, you look between your legs to see one of the world's deadliest snakes ready to pump you full of venom.
That's what happened in Australia. You know, the continent where pretty much everything wants to kill you?
According to the police report -- 27-year-old "Jimmy," from Gladstone was driving the speed limit when he spotted an "angry" brown snake slithering through his gear stick and heading straight for his legs.
What ensued next was a literal fight to the death. The brown snake began striking the seat between his legs while Jimmy employed his seatbelt and whipped out a knife to kill the serpent. All while driving, mind you.
"And the more I moved my legs… it just started to wrap around me. Its head just started striking at the (driver’s seat) chair, between my legs," he explained in the report.
After killing the creature, Jimmy started speeding to the closest hospital out of fear he had been bitten.
A bite from a brown snake causes uncontrollable bleeding and paralysis. Their bite, which is painless, also causes the most deaths in Australia.
An officer eventually pulled Jimmy over because he was going well above the speed limit, but soon realized why the terrified man had a legitimate excuse to be screaming down the road.
"A brown snake or a tiger snake is in the back of the ute, I think it has bitten me, it was in the car with me," He breathlessly explained to the officer, who caught their exchange on his body cam. "I’ve never been so happy to see red and blue lights."
The officer called paramedics who later determined that Jimmy was bite-free.
