This Year's Most Popular Halloween Costumes

Halloween is gearing up to be a very different affair this year due to COVID-19 restrictions.

But for people who still want to dress up in the safety of their own homes, the pandemic has even changed what types of costumes people are looking to wear.

Party City’s CMO, Julie Roehm, tells AdWeek this year’s most popular costume searches represent peak 2020. They include Tiger King-themed costumes and characters from the video games Fortnite and Overwatch -- a reflection of people’s quarantine pastimes.

Kids and young adults are also expected to dress up as real-life heroes: frontline workers such as doctors, nurses, firefighters and police officers. And, of course, you can probably expect to see election-inspired costumes as well.
