Time for a Do-Over?

If 2020 was about survival, 2021 is about rebirth, if the results of a new survey is to be believed.

A non-scientific poll of 2,000 Americans shows that 52% said the COVID-19 pandemic kept them from achieving their health and fitness goals, with 67% saying last year made them more determined reach them in 2021.

The poll, commissioned by The Vitamin Shoppe in partnership with WW (formerly Weight Watchers) showed that 68% of those surveyed are seeing 2021 as a "do-over" for their health, after the events of last year.

Despite the negative headlines and all that was 2020, 83% of respondents think that 2021 will be their year to finally achieve their fitness goals.

Also on in the "glass is half full" front, 92% of those polled say that 2020 allowed them to improve some aspects of their lives, like getting proper sleep and eating better (46%), and spending more time with their family (43%).

Apparently, people are taking some of those positive 2020 lessons into 2021, with 77% vowing to take a more proactive role in their family's health and wellness. Forty-one percent said they'll take more "me time" in 2021, while 37% vowed to be "more present in the moment."
