Woman Shuts Down California Freeway for an Announcement

The California Highway Patrol Santa Ana division shut down a large stretch of the 55 Freeway in Costa Mesa, California on Wednesday due to a woman who stopped in the center divider to deliver a bizarre message, according to Patch.

Police, responding to the woman’s 9-1-1 call, found her outside of her vehicle "waving signs that declared her father was a serial killer," according to CHP Officer Florentino Olivera.

The unidentified woman, also armed with a flair gun, told CHP dispatch that she "wanted her story to be heard," and that her father was the "Texas I-45 serial killer."

She then made reference to the Killing Fields in Texas, where multiple women were found murdered over many years in an area south of Houston, according to the news website.

The woman, whose story was unverified, was taken into custody without incident and will undergo 72 hours of medical evaluation, Olivera told Patch.
